I know you have a choice on which marina you will choose. You probably noticed that I don’t make
claims about being the “only” or the “best” at anything. We always try to do better, and we feel that
our clients are our best advertising and word of mouth is the most powerful persuader.
So who are we now? We are a family friendly, clean and safe marina that has been here for 24 years.
We know times have changed, but Mario’s remembers its roots. It started with people who enjoyed a
sense of adventure and who made Mario’s there base in the past, it is still that sense of adventure
that brings you here. We are ready for you!
.
The Rio Dulce is a remote location, no doubt about it. Portions of the Rio are more remote that
others. The Marina zone near the town of Fronteras (aka Rio Dulce) is the focal point for the
24 hour a day 7 Day a week Navy Patrol. This Patrol is funded by local businesses and
the drive for its creation was provided by the local watch dog organization Ecorio.
We believe that the beautiful Rio Dulce should be enjoyed by all who make the journey. Ecorio,
believes that the Rio Dulce can be protected and maintained while being enjoyed by many
through sustainable ecologically sound development of the area. Marios Marina is a supporting
member of Ecorio and a contributing member of the Patrol Program.
The Rio is beautiful, It is worth the trip, it is worth the stay. But it is not a 100% controlled
environment like many amusement parks. So I encourage our guests to “maintain ownership”
I prefer this to the phrase preventing theft. Take the proactive steps necessary to maintain your
ownership of your property. Act like you own it and most if not all people will leave it alone and in
your possession. Lock your dingy, and your motor, stay at a marina with security.
Marios has dusk to dawn security in the form of armed guards who patrol the docks and grounds.
The marina also has management on the premises 24 hours a day.
So in summary.... here is what is going on here.
- Lock your stuff up, just like you would any where else.
- Stay aware of what is going on around you.
- Be active not a victim about how you approach your own security.
- There is a 24x7 Navy Patrol in the area , they monitor Ch-16 and speak only Spanish.
- A guarded marina is more secure that an anchorage.
- Do not anchor in Livingston overnight.
- Ask questions, but more importantly read what is already available first.
There is always something happening around Marios, we enjoy being far enough away from
Fronteras to enjoy the quiet, like hearing the howler monkeys with your morning coffee. But this
sometimes means a longer than desired trip to run errands. So we offer a variety of services that
make these errands painless.
Daily we offer a free scheduled launcha to Fronteras.
Our Twelve passenger launcha departs from the Cayuco Club dock daily at 7:30, 12:30 and 17:30.
The launcha will drop you off at Brunos dinghy dock or the Municipal dock in Fronteras.
This Launcha is available Monday through Saturday for free. Sundays the scheduled launcha
service is not available. But the Launcha is available if requested in advance.
Weekly Propane refill service with same day return.

and return your tank to you on the same day.
